UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN SYSTEM AWARDS SCION SECOND 2007 ENGAGEMENT

MADISON, WI. Following the engagement of The Scion Group to prepare a Student Housing Master Plan for its Oshkosh campus earlier this year, the University of Wisconsin System announced today that it has selected Scion through a competitive RFP process to complete a comprehensive plan for student housing at its Superior campus. The objective of the project – Scion’s third in the Superior/Duluth area – is to develop a long range Housing Master Plan consistent with the mission of the University’s Office of Residence Life to provide an enjoyable, safe, and reasonably priced living/learning environment for students.

DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY SELECTS SCION FOR MIXED-USE FACILITY PLANNING

PITTSBURGH, PA. Duquesne University has selected The Scion Group to analyze the feasibility of student housing as part of a mixed-use development planned for on land adjacent to the University. Occupying a full city block just across Forbes Avenue from campus, the project potentially could also include classroom space, graduate student housing, market housing, parking and street-level retail. Scion’s feasibility analysis will also study the needs of undergraduate students and potential renovation of two of the University’s existing residence halls, including how the new project may provide “swing space” for undergraduate students during renovation.

DRAKE UNIVERSITY SUCCESSFULLY FINANCES STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT

DES MOINES, IA. Drake University has successfully completed a $36 million tax-exempt bond issue to finance the development of the 457-bed “Drake West Village” mixed-use project, which is now under construction with a scheduled opening for Fall 2008. The Scion Group served as the University’s development advisor, including directing a national selection process for a development partner and assisting in structuring of financing and negotiation of development terms. Scion also performed earlier feasibility analysis for the project.
