SCION ACQUIRES TWO PROPERTIES TOTALING 1,600 BEDS AT UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

URBANA, IL. A subsidiary of The Scion Group has acquired two student housing communities totaling 524 units with nearly 1,600 beds and serving both the University of Illinois and Parkland College. Formerly called Campus Connection and Lincoln View, Scion will invest nearly $2 million in renovations and will rebrand and manage the properties together as ONE North and ONE South. Scion now operates over 3,300 beds of student housing in Illinois and over 6,200 beds nationwide.

RUTGERS UNIVERSITY AT NEWARK ENGAGES SCION TO UPDATE STUDENT HOUSING MASTER PLAN

NEWARK, NJ. After completing a Housing Master Plan in 2004 that was used by Rutgers University at Newark in the planning and successful opening of a new campus residence facility, Scion has been engaged for a fourth time by Rutgers-Newark and for the tenth time by the New Jersey public university system, in this instance to review and update the 2004 plan. Scion will focus on the combined impact of the new facility that opened in 2006, the University’s growing enrollment and the continued revitalization of the City of Newark.

SAN JUAN COLLEGE SELECTS SCION TO STUDY FEASIBILITY FOR FIRST-EVER STUDENT HOUSING

FARMINGTON, NM. The Scion Group has been engaged by San Juan College to explore the feasibility of the College’s first dedicated housing for students.
