CHICAGO STATE UNIV. FOUNDATION HIRES SCION FOR RETURN ENGAGEMENT

The Chicago State University Foundation has announced its selection of The Scion Group to complete a new student housing business plan based on the findings of market and operations analyses submitted by Scion in 2010. FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY SELECTS SCION FOR STUDENT HOUSING PLAN

BIG RAPIDS, MICHIGAN. Ferris State University has announced the engagement of The Scion Group to provide a strategic plan in support of the University’s transition from a two-year to a one-year residency requirement. Selected through a competitive Request for Proposal process, Scion will develop strategies to mitigate occupancy and revenue impacts. Scion will also assess impacts to the University’s housing strategic plan and develop a three-year pro forma, projecting cash flow implications for recommended strategies.

NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY SELECTS SCION-LED TEAM

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN. The Scion Group has been selected by Northern Michigan University through a competitive “RFP” proposal process to assist the University in improving its existing residential offerings and potentially adding new and/or renovated facilities, as part of a larger effort to attract students. Scion has partnered with Integrated Designs, Inc., a full-service architectural and engineering firm, to provide support on the long-range facilities planning for the University. This engagement follows the successful implementation of a campus housing plan created by Scion for Northern Michigan University in 2004.

SASAKI ENGAGES SCION FOR WEBSTER UNIVERSTY CAMPUS MASTER PLAN

ST.LOUIS, MISSOURI. Sasaki Associates, Inc. has announced its engagement of The Scion Group to collaborate on a campus master plan for Webster University. Scion will be responsible for examining the feasibility of additional student housing as part of the master planning effort. Scion and Sasaki have collaborated previously; in this partnership Scion will analyze the current real estate market, assess current and future demand for student housing at Webster University, and will develop a business plan for potential new or renovated housing. Scion’s work will be integrated with the broader master plan prepared by Sasaki.

SCION TO EXAMINE FEASIBILITY OF MEDICAL STUDENT HOUSING AT COOPER UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

CAMDEN, NJ. The Scion Group has been engaged by Cooper University Hospital to examine the feasibility of housing for medical students studying and working at the hospital, including students of the new Cooper Medical School. Scion will rely in part on its knowledge of the local market, having studied the Camden student housing market on three prior occasions. This engagement is Scion’s fourth in Camden in twelfth in New Jersey.

AUSTIN, TX. The Scion Group has been engaged by American Campus Communities (NYSE: ACC) to conduct a qualitative update to Scion’s January 2009 Student Housing Market and Demand Analysis for the University of Wyoming. ACC was selected by the University to develop campus housing for upper-division students and has asked Scion to verify the feasibility of the contemplated project.

NEW GRADUATE HOUSING PLANNED FOR RUTGERS UNIVERSITY-CAMDEN

CAMDEN, NJ. Following a 2010 market and demand analysis performed by The Scion Group, Rutgers University-Camden will break ground this month on new on-campus housing for graduate students. The 2010 Scion study, the firm’s third engagement at Rutgers-Camden, examined the viability of contemplated new housing adjacent to campus for upper-division and graduate students.
