PLATTSBURGH, NY. Clinton Community College has announced its selection of The Scion Group, in partnership with Flynn Battaglia Architects, to complete a feasibility study for a new residence hall and multi-conference facility. The Scion-led team will collaborate to provide recommendations to guide the College’s decision-making, including operating standards based on current best practices and an implementation plan that incorporates the number of beds and unit types, financing and delivery and an implementation schedule.
The advisory team’s work will include interviews with key stakeholders, student focus group sessions, an online student survey, tour of existing facilities and potential project sites, and a review of housing offered at peer institutions. Scion will also facilitate a workshop to develop consensus around the program of space for new student housing and preferred financing options.
A member of the State University of New York, Clinton Community College enrolls over 2,000 students. Clinton was named one of the Top 50 Community Colleges in the Nation by Washington Monthly magazine in August 2013. The College offers 19 Associate’s degree programs and seven certificate programs in eleven departments.
