PUEBLO, CO. Following a 2008 engagement of The Scion Group by Allen & O’Hara Inc. to explore the feasibility of a contemplated new student housing community on the campus of Colorado State University – Pueblo, which stemmed from Scion’s 2006 student housing master plan for the University, the first phase of the project successfully opened in Fall 2009 with a 97% occupancy rate and with a second phase already under construction.
The new Crestone Hall houses 253 students in suite-style units, with lounges on each floor that offer dramatic views of the surrounding area. Two additional facilities of 253 beds each are currently under construction and are scheduled to open in Fall 2010. Scion advised the University on demand for student housing, evaluation of existing buildings, auxiliary facilities, live-on requirements and location selection, and subsequently advised developer Allen & O’Hara on feasibility in the pre-development stage.
