NEWARK, NJ. Following The Scion Group’s previous successful completion of a campus housing master plan for The New Jersey Institute of Technology, NJIT has selected Scion to return to campus to conduct a housing market analysis.
Scion will analyze current market conditions and housing preferences of NJIT students in order to recommend strategies to positively impact occupancy for the next academic year and beyond. This task will be accomplished through assessment of existing housing and dining facilities, review of the off-campus student rental market, interviews with campus stakeholders, examination of the campus housing application process and marketing materials, student focus groups sessions and a student survey.
NJIT was founded in 1881 as the Newark Technical School and currently offers 125 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in six specialized schools. Located in the University Heights district of downtown Newark, NJIT has nearly 10,000 students enrolled in the STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics) fields and currently houses over 1,600 students on campus.
