MANHATTAN, KS. The Scion Group has been selected to perform a housing study for the Kansas State University Foundation. Scion will analyze demand among students, faculty, staff and visiting scholars for a contemplated new housing community, and will assess the highest and best use of parcels owned by the Foundation on the perimeter of the University campus.
Scion’s work will include student and faculty/staff focus group sessions and stakeholder interviews, a review of housing at peer institutions and the off-campus rental market, and a survey of students. Scion will then provide recommendations on the unit mix and rental rates of the planned new community.
Kansas State University began in 1863 as Kansas State Agricultural College and was the first official higher education land-grant public institution in the country. Today, K-State enrolls nearly 24,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
