SCION SELECTED TO DEVELOP HOUSING STRATEGIC PLAN FOR MCGILL UNIVERSITY

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC. McGill University has selected The Scion Group to complete a Housing Strategic Plan, which will support decision making for the University’s Student Housing and Hospitality Services while promoting student development and enrolment management objectives. This engagement marks Scion’s fourth strategic and master planning engagement in Canada in the past year.

Scion’s advisory team will conduct a three-phase process including data gathering and review, a market and demand analysis and housing strategy workshop. Scion will consider the specific needs and goals of the University, along with best practices and trends from student housing around the world in preparing its recommendations.

“This mandate for McGill–the 20th campus Scion has advised in Canada and fourth Canadian campus housing master or strategic plan in the past twelve months–cements our status as the preferred student housing advisor to Canadian institutions,” said Jason Taylor, Scion’s Senior Vice President, Advisory Services. “Our continued success reflects the strength of our Toronto-based team and Scion’s track record of producing outstanding work for our campus clients.” Within the past year, Scion has provided strategic planning for the University of Ottawa, a student housing master plan for the University of Toronto Mississauga and a residence capital renewal plan for the University of New Brunswick.

Chartered in 1821, McGill University offers more than 300 programs of study in eleven faculties. Ranked first in Canada and 24th worldwide, the University enrolls students from 150 different countries. McGill is an English-language university within the French-speaking province of Québec.
