TYLER, TX. Tyler Junior College has engaged a team led by SmithGroup JJR and including The Scion Group to develop a Campus Housing Master Plan. This collaboration marks Scion’s fourteenth advisory assignment for a predominantly two-year school.
Scion will analyze operational data, evaluate the College’s eight existing housing facilities and conduct research including interviews and focus groups to support a master plan for campus housing. “Providing a residential experience as part of a two-year program can have a profound impact on the student learning experience and on the campus climate,” noted Jason Taylor, Scion’s Vice President for Consulting Services. “Thorough due diligence is the most effective way for housing to have the intended impact, whether building new or enhancing existing residential facilities.”
Tyler Junior College, founded in 1926, today serves more than 15,000 credit students and an additional 20,000 continuing education students.
