MEMPHIS, TN. A team led by SmithGroupJJR and including The Scion Group was chosen by the University of Memphis, following a competitive RFP process, to provide a Facilities Campus Master Plan Update. Scion’s role will include evaluating potential opportunities to enhance the living and learning experience.
Scion will consider: capacities, unit mix and market position; current and potential demand by student cohort; renovation, expansion and phasing needs; and opportunities to align inventories and programs to support retention; and the growth of a residential component on the University’s Lambuth campus.
First opening in 1912 as West Tennessee Normal School and later Memphis State University, the school became the University of Memphis in 1994 and now enrolls over 21,000 students, including more than 17,000 undergraduates.
