OSHAWA, ONTARIO. The Scion Group has been selected by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) to develop a comprehensive student housing strategic plan. After working on 70 campuses in the United States and Mexico, this appointment marks Scion’s first engagement in Canada.
Scion’s work will include a student housing market analysis, existing facility assessment, programming and business planning. Ultimately, Scion will focus on positioning UOIT to provide on-campus and affiliated housing to best respond to its rapid enrollment growth. “We are pleased to be working on our sixth technological university campus,” said Jason A. Taylor, Scion’s Managing Director of Consulting Services, “and very proud to continue expanding our expertise into Ontario.”
The first new university to open in Ontario in 40 years, UOIT was officially founded in 2002. In the four years since the University welcomed its first class of 947 students, full-time enrollment has grown to over 5,000.
