CARROLLTON, GA. The University of West Georgia has selected The Scion Group, through a competitive proposal process, to prepare a student housing master plan. Scion’s work will include a recommended housing program, development phasing, financing benchmarks and a final plan for implementation.
Scion will conduct a student housing and lifestyle market analysis, existing facility assessment, operational review and business planning. “We believe Scion offers the creativity and proven track record needed as we develop a plan for how on-campus housing can best support our aggressive enrollment goals,” said Dr. Melanie McClellan, Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Students.
Founded in 1906 as an agriculture and mechanical school, The University of West Georgia became a four-year institution in 1957. Today it offers 109 programs through three colleges, including bachelor, master, doctoral and post-master degrees. The only university in Georgia to offer an honors college, the University enrolls over 10,000 students each year in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
