COLORADO MOUNTAIN COLLEGE SELECTS SCION-LED TEAM FOR 7-CAMPUS STUDENT & WORKFORCE HOUSING FEASIBILITY STUDY

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO. Colorado Mountain Junior College District has announced the selection of a team lead by The Scion Group to complete a student and workforce housing feasibility study for its seven campuses. Scion and its design partner, Page Southerland Page, will identify and recommend opportunities for the College to enhance access to its programs through a combination of new and renovated housing facilities, faculty-staff support programs, and engagement with other employers and initiatives in its nine-county service area.

The Scion team will review potential improvements that may be needed to existing residence halls, identify the housing and living needs of student and faculty-staff cohorts, and develop financially sustainable recommendations. Finally, the advisors will provide an implementation plan that will identify methods to implement the recommendations such that they complement the College’s mission.

Colorado Mountain College is a statutory junior college district established in 1967, and includes three residential campuses, four commuter campuses, a Distance Learning program and administrative offices. The District covers all or part of nine counties in Colorado, encompassing 12,000 square miles.
