ORANGE COAST COLLEGE BREAKS GROUND ON SCION-ADVISED P3 HOUSING

COSTA MESA, CA. Orange Coast College has broken ground on its first-ever student housing, an 814-bed community developed by Servitas LLC, in a bond-financed public-private partnership with National Campus and Community Development Corp. (NCCD). The Scion Group advised Servitas in connection with the development and has been selected by the project team to lease, manage and provide residence life services for the project, which is expected to open for Fall 2020.

During the design and planning stages of the project, Servitas engaged Scion for pre-development advisory services including a student housing preference survey, which analyzed demand preferences among Orange Coast College students. Scion was later selected by the project’s constituents, including Orange Coast College, the Coast Community College District and NCCD, to serve as the community’s manager. Scion will be responsible for marketing and leasing, operations and all residential life functions, for which Scion will collaborate closely with the College.

Orange Coast College, a member of the Coast Community College District, is located on a 164-acre campus in Costa Mesa, California. Founded in 1947, the College has grown into one of the nation’s largest community colleges, enrolling more than 25,000 students each semester.
