Scion Celebrates Accomplishments at Annual Leadership Conference

The Scion Group held its annual Leadership Summit March 7-9 in person at Chicago’s Radisson Blu Hotel, an event which is a highlight of the year for many Scion team members. Scion managers, service partners and industry specialists together celebrated the successes of the prior year and looked ahead to new challenges and strategies for the year ahead.

Scion’s leadership noted the team’s achievements, including pre-leasing the company’s portfolio to 99%, as well as the recent acquisition of 32 high-quality communities, making Scion the largest owner-operator of off-campus student housing.

Attendees participated in numerous workshops and keynotes that align with the company’s strategic priorities. Krystle Coleman, Vice President of Business Operations, interviewed a panel of Scion’s executive leadership on topics including Scion’s company values, upcoming Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives, and the company’s strategic business priorities. Keynotes featured Buddy Bush, Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, and Scion’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Kenny Funk, to rally the teams for the upcoming academic year.

To close out the Summit and honor the team’s accomplishments, Scion hosted more than 250 attendees at a celebratory dinner, including presentation of awards to celebrate teams and individuals for their achievements and company tenure.
